Well! I must say, that was heavy. You gave Jerrica a much deeper soul than was ever revealed in the cartoon. To that effect, she seemed very out-of-character. It's hard to imagine the real Jerrica ever actually feeling resentful toward her father, or wracked with guilt over her lies to the men in her life to the point where she would fling the Jemstar earrings across a room and cry into her pillow. But maybe cartoon Jem is too perfect. She is, after all, a cartoon. Your rendition of her love triangle feels more realistic and believable, and shows how a real young woman would be likely to feel and behave in her situation. Your version of Jerrica gives the reader someone relatable, and I like that.
