The brief, disjointed nature of Alex's thoughts emphasise her anger, fear and determination - especially "Leave him behind? Yes. No. Of course. Never. She had to.". And I like the way you parallel Gene's world crumbling at the end, with hers crumbling at the begining. Great.

Oh my God, this was amazing! You tied the song in so well, I really loved that ending too; I knew it would end with her getting shot, obviously as we all do from watching the show, but the way you wrote that with Gene's thoughts being parallel to Alex's was truly lovely.

Very clever summary of the finale of series two. Yes we know how it ended but it's nice to hear from alexs pov the pain and uncertainty behind her descisions and worst fears. Thanks for writing.
