Eponine Thenardier 2/14/11 . chapter 1 Wow, I love getting feedback from authors! The whole thing about the musical vs. book categories can get very confusing - you'll probably get a wider and more serious readership in the book fandom. But I always read both, and there are loads of others who do. If you want to contact me or ask any questions, I've set up an email address to communicate with ff authors: . Yes, I'm in love with Feuilly. Ymmm, David Tennant the accountant. I like. I like very much. Hey, did you see his new show "Single Father"? I love it! |
Elaine Vivian 2/12/11 . chapter 1I see David Tennant as the accountant... anyone agree? |
Eicheulme 2/9/11 . chapter 1Hello my dear Elaine ... :) While I am working for my friend to send me the stuff for my project and I am actually recieving texts with what I have to go over tommorow in my daily Precal session with our own personal Foreman/Enjoras :_) I decided to read your story. I think one can see that you love this musical more than anything and I am the one who saw you burst out in tears in our last performance, so I know it for sure. I had to smile about the name of one of the characters :) You know which one I am talking about. But I bet she'd feel honored to be mentioned. The end kinda depressed me ... but it's realistic and that's something that is pretty hard to find in fanfiction. And I love love love your detail and your imagery. Love, Marina |
Eponine Thenardier 2/7/11 . chapter 1 Oh, and I was just reading your profile...you were talking about how someone bluntly and tactlessly told you to recatalogue One Day More? I'm assuming I was that reviewer - if not, then I'm shamelessly self-centered. I'm extremely sorry if I hurt your feelings with that review - to tell the truth, it was super, super late when I wrote that review, but I wouldn't let myself go to bed until I'd read the latest updates on LM fanfiction...well, let's just say that my sensitivity-meter seems to stop functioning after midnight. :) Your story was actually pretty good - I had just read a great number of non-canon-adhering fics, and I was a bit fed up. I was way too harsh in what I said - for that, I apologize. *embarrassed face*. I'm just uber protective of canon, and of Les Amis in particular. They get botched so often, I just try to keep authors on the straight and narrow where they are concerned. But, honestly, yours was hardly the worst offense to canon I've read. There was nothing wrong with it, it just belonged better in the musical fandom. Again, I apologize for being too harsh. Just wanted to clear that up... |
Eponine Thenardier 2/7/11 . chapter 1 I know you're probably sick of these reviews, but I think, if you wanted to, you could recatalogue this in the Book fandom. You seem to be one of those writers who constantly straddle the line between Book and Musical - each Book piece is a bit too musical-ish and each Musical piece is a bit too Book-ish. No offence intended, of course. It's extremely difficult as LM writer to stick to one fandom - especially seeing as how the musical is most of our introduction to the story. But, since this one didn't focus so much on one of Hugo's characters, there isn't as much of a strict canon to adhere to. And that means you can make up your own characters, and no one can call you OOC. :) You did have a few references to the musical's lyrics, and the whole fight between Isabelle and Fantine was, if I remember correctly, only in the musical, but I think it could be overlooked in the Book section. No, really, the historical details were good, and you got a flavor of the oppressiveness of the factory, and the exploitation the grisettes faced. The whole thing with the foreman always bugged me a bit. I mean, Valjean's a good judge of character and, even though I could see him try to give the pervert a second chance, he wouldn't have done so to the suffering of his female workers. But you gave a good explanation - Valjean comes by weekly to make sure all ethics are maintained. But I'm rambling again, as I have a tendency to do in reviews...anyways, great job, and I'll be happy to keep reading your work! |
Feuilly 2/6/11 . chapter 1Erm, I like the Amis and the 1832 part of the play better, for the simple fact that you don't see someone go through everything Fantine has to, but I do like your writing, so here I am. Interesting, and I think that it is slightly choppy in some parts, or was it supposed to be? I mean, I do that sometimes, just for a style change, but other than that I have no complaints or anything that you should change. |
Hugo Purist 2/6/11 . chapter 1Oh my. This was fantastic. I am tempted to print this out, stick it on page 179 of my copy of Les Misérables, and consider it canon. Really. Your characterization was truly beautiful, the details were excellent, and the strong emotion really made this story flawless. Thank you do much for this, and I eagerly look forward to more from you. |
