This is very... Ravyn-esque so to speak. It encompasses the genre/fantasy that she usually writes, and it's one of my favorites to read too. :) I was a little confused by the random species/worlds you introduced at the beginning, as you just dropped names, but it became clearer as I kept reading.

Wow, I kind of adore this story. I've read it several times before, and I'm pretty sure it's on my favorite list, but I come back to it every now and again, and just revel in the marvelousness of it. I normally find short stories irritating, but this one is a gem. It has so much flavor, and it is just enough. Like a Hershey's kiss, not too much, not too little, and it just melts in your mouth.
