a very melancholly chapter. ( but good insight to the relationships among everyone, especially sohin and ifuku.

Wow, that was another riveting chapter. Had to go back and read the last one because just jumping into this one didn't quite make much sense. Everything is getting more...serious, for lack of better word with Kodachi saying farewell, once and for all, and Nabiki doing something that could eventually lead to her death- I hope not, because the reincarnation gets the short end already- middle child died in a hold up? Very sad way to go. Plus, this means that there is future Kuno bits to come. Will he be serious? Will he be comedic? I don't know, but I do know I can't wait for him to appear again.

I have to say I'm liking the Tendo siblings more and more. Being half-siblings helps explain a little on the "distance" between them. They do seem close, but just not enough. It could always be the fear of death from step-mother and the years apart, but this can prove to be another stumbling block. I like their interaction, especially Eruchii, although the name Sohin is so much easier to pronounce. He is such an interesting character: has a duty to do, has sisters he wants to protect, has lands and a title he has to reclaim and to add to the confusion, has Nabiki to contend with. He's got his work cut out for him.

And of course, once more- Kodachi's dead? REALLY? That was completely unexpected since the scene with Nabiki seemed more like she was going to commit suicide, which was kind of what she did in effect, but with an added benefit of getting rid of Kodachi. Still...without her, the story's going to seem strangely lacking in "bad guys." I suppose Happosai could fill the bill if he really wants to, but Kodachi's the only one who do all the crazy things she does. She'll be missed, because it's so easy to relate to and hate her at the same time. There is some logic to all the insanity she sprouts, which isn't that insane at all.

And another note, the extensive research is much appreciated. I like how it fleshes out the story and makes everything seem more real. Keep up the good work!
