That was epic, so sad yet beautiful. I'm a little confused on the happy ending side, but the original is great.

The full caps title scared me a way for a while, glad I eventually read it though!

This is an utterly poignant piece, and I honestly love it. Perhaps I am a dramatic soul, but I relish unconventional endings, and yours is something fresh.

Some may say that this ending is 'unhappy', but I see it as quite the opposite. This is actually an incredibly happy one. If Owen and Abby were to live on, I could forsee that the darkness and hardship they would face together would perhaps lead their lives into a very distressing and terrifying place. Abby was obviously consistently distraught at the burden of her existence, and Owen would have had to face the most inconceivable ideas of loss and sacrifice in order to be with her as he grew.

In your story, they were treated to the ultimate happiness. Abby was freed of her curse. She could see the sun again, she was no longer burdened by her horrifying existence. Owen could stay with Abby, forever youthful and vibrant, and never leave her behind as he continued to grow old without her.

The poetic idea was that they got exactly what EVERY fan wants; for them to be together forever, and happy. It is ironic that some people may not care for it for this exact reason!

You've done a wonderful job, and you honestly didn't even need the 'happy ending'. Your ending was happy enough, to me anyway, to begin with. Great work, and you should be very proud of your achievement.

Heart wrenching and amazing. I think you are the first LMI writer who has dared to write an unhappy ending for Abby and Owen and with powerful dramatic effect too. The alternate ending was a nice touch, but I'm a tad confused. Did Abby turn Owen and then the two of them slaughter everyone? I suppose it was a happy ending for them, but definetly not for the people on the train.

I could see everything unfold perfectly in my mind, and it was just packed with so much emotion, love, drama, tragedy, and everything else under the sun.
