first time reading this and already i want to complement you for the theme you are stressing. so many people seem to think that since you weren't touched you weren't really abused. So many seem to think it would be easy to 'get over it' if its just emotional. You showing that to not be true is fantastic.

I am glad Tim was able to find his voice and tap his courage to stand up to Claire.
His beating was horrible to think about, and it is hard to believe the human body can sustain such torture and recover. Gibbs was right that Mike Franks saved all of them. Good story. Thanks

I'm so glad you have finished this-I was checking everyday! But when I read this chapter you used a phrase, and I think it was not what you meant. When someone has a chip on their shoulder it means they are arrogant, always right (in their .own eyes) obnoxious. I think you might have meant something like Tim looked as if he had the whole world on his shoulder.

I would love to read a story with Tim also having been physically abused and his dad, and Gibbs trying to help him overcome his extreme fear of being touched. Or better yet, that the abuse is still happening...

I LOVE the way Gibbs keeps calling Tim "my son" or thinks about "his son"...this is typical of a new relationship and it is so sweet! BTW, this is easily the 5th time I've read this story, love it more every time...although the Brad parts are tough to take.
