Absolutely wonderful! I love the idea of all this back history, both Harrison's work and your own mixed in. This has the making of a very interesting story where Rachel bridges the gap between not just witches and demons, but demons and elves as well. If I may, I'd like to use this concept in a story that I've been developing (not posted yet). Of course, it's your genius idea so you will get a huge amount of credit for that particular point if it's alright.

Oh, now THAT is awesome. I have a teensy nit-picky bit about your DNA explanation, but it's only 'cause I'm a microbiologist and you have retroviruses so...cool! ;) Otherwise I love your idea! I had a similar idea in mind but you've put far more thought into the details. And the storytelling style works well, too.
