| tiger002 4/17/13 . chapter 29
It's interesting seeing the deep impact this had on Ken, and really everyone around him. I'm more interested in what's going in with the twins though, what Alexander is sensing. I'm guessing it was Cody that was the one watching them? You really do make us be able to feel what they're going though.
| tiger002 3/2/13 . chapter 28
Interesting look at Ken and Tom's relationship here. I had to laugh at Zack and Cody getting so much ice-cream. Seems like they're enjoying it other than the head rush, but it looks like it was worth it. I like seeing how this story shows the kids being just that, kids, but at the same time weaving that into the much greater plot.
And now I'm officially caught up. That took a while...
| tiger002 3/2/13 . chapter 27
Why do I get the feeling something bad is about to happen? Other than it being one of your stories where bad things tend to happen a lot. This chapter was pretty calm, showed some character interaction, but not much action. Then again, chapters like this are good sometimes too.
| tiger002 2/25/13 . chapter 26
Once more I am amazed at how much the events tie together, and how realistic you show the consequences of one mistake. It makes perfect sense that they'd be leery with Ken having the kids when they nearly died. It was interesting seeing the conversation, and I liked having Tom be the one to tell them about it. One small complaint I had is that it was sometimes hard to see who was speaking. Great chapter though.
| tiger002 2/2/13 . chapter 25
Okay then...was not expected. I should have known you had a reason for Tom being there all along, I mean with everything else going on he just stayed in the background, but now that's changing, and I like it. It's intersting seeing all the different dynamics building, with Ken and Jonna and Sarah, the politics and stuff. Nicely done.
Also, happy birthday :)
| tiger002 1/27/13 . chapter 24
This was an interesting chapter, though I was a bit lost during Ken's internal thoughts with Dimitri getting here. I liked the therapy session with Ken, and the back and forth between them. Once more your skill at showing the struggles they go through and that there isn't an easy way to just get past them. The art therapy for Zack makes a lot of sense, for me at least, I express myself through writing more than I do just talking to people.

Please finish I want to know what happens next

I really like this. But two things struck out to me, the opposition, and Sara. You alluded a lot about Ken here, but not much directly. One thing that constantly facinates me about this story is how you force us to look at the moral ramifications of what could be dismissed as a simple choice of survival. But no matter what way we look at it, Ken was responsible for that guy's death. And even when done in the most noble of conditions, it's not something that can just disapear. This is far from the first time you've done something like this, and I look forward to your next chapter.
| sol invictus 9/18/12 . chapter 5
I think I'm going to try to read four or five chapters at a time and then leave a review if that's okay with you, otherwise it will take me absolutely forever to catch up with the chatpers you have so far.
When I clicked on the story, I knew that the name Honor Harrington sounded familiar but I couldn't figure out why. A little Google research later and I felt like an idiot. The books weren't exactly my cup of tea but I'm interested to see how you're going to combine the two 'worlds' as I get further into the story.
Through the first five chapters I'm really liking Zack's inner turmoil. He's been through so much and add in the car wreck and he's struggling to deal with any of it. I can't say I really blame him at all. And as someone who's taken in a kid before, I really feel Ken's worry of how Zack will react to him and adjust to a new life.
The piece with Cody two chapters ago made me want to crawl through my monitor. That was good. If I can be moved to anger by something I read, I have to tip my hat to the author.
Having the twins' old friends in the story is nice. Too many stories, even when set in the Hotel Era, simply leave them out and roll in completely new characters. I know I've been guilty of that. Kudos.
I'm going to have to stop here as life calls. Good first few chapters and hopefully I can get to more of them later on tonight.
| tiger002 7/28/12 . chapter 22
Well, it took me a while to read, but it was a good chapter. I'm not quite sure where the plot is going with this. You seem to have several different plotlines forming, but they haven't come together quite yet. I'm intrigued.
The part with the car in the beginning totally surprised me. I'm wondering if that will have a role later on. I also liked the twins learning about how Ken saved them. One thing that sets your story apart from many others is the value of life you show. Even the villians are people, and while you don't redeem them, you remind us that they are humans too.
Can't think of much else right now. Good chapter, and I look forward to more.
| Wyntirsno 5/27/12 . chapter 20
Yay Zack protecting his little brother. He isn't about to lose him again is he? Even though he wasn't thinking about the fact that he could have been truly hurt. I love the way you wrote Zack in this chapter, like a wild animal protecting its young. I 'm glad they didn't force him to submit, it would have just pushed him further over the edge.
The doctor is great, the way he handled Zack so he felt like he was the one taking care of Cody. Thats the kind of doctor everyone needs. :)
Ken... crying... what happened to him? Was he abused as a child also? He and Joanna know everything about each other, right?
Fantastic chapter. :D
| Wyntirsno 5/27/12 . chapter 19
Wow, that was... wow.
I'm sorry I didn't review this sooner, my email system stopped allowing emails from ff and I didn't know for over 2 months.
This was a very telling chapter. I have to say that I wasn't really surprised at the reaction Ken had towards the gang. Most people would have that same one of their kids had been tortured and almost killed. Its just great that Ken had unexpected backup.
Alexander, he is dangerous, but in a good way. Fight to the death to save his adoptive human. :)
I hope the boys will be ok, I love the way Ken was so gentle in checking them out. He truly cares, its too bad he has such a hard time showing it to the kids.
Great chapter, the gang guys got what they deserved for the way they treated others.
| Wyntirsno 2/28/12 . chapter 18
Wow, how sad for the twins. I certainly hope that Ken shows up RIGHT NOW and takes out every one of those thugs. How dare they beat up little kids.
After he saves them (hint, hint) I hope Ken makes things right with the kids, especially Zack. They need to sit down and have a long, calm talk, so that Ken can put to rest Zacks fears about him.
Poor Joanna, she shouldn't feel so guilty tho. She has been the one reaching out to the boys the most, and they seem to really like her alot.
| woundedhearts 2/20/12 . chapter 18
Okay that better be Ken and Alexander or i'll never forgive you for killing the twins off. ;)
First of all gosh the painful thoughts going through not only Zack for blaming himself by putting them in this situation, but Ken and Julianna for blaming themselves for letting their circumstances get the better of them.
What more can happen, with everything that's go on before now they witness a murder and are almost killed by the very same men. I can't believe they beat them up. I mean they are witnesses but ultimately they are still kids. Heartless bastards. I hope they are blown to kingdom come.
I strongly suggest that Ken and Julianna adopt the twins and make them a family before anything worse happens.
Next Chapter Please! :)
