Oh I like! Fenris isn't going to try to start back up with Hawke is he? He had his chance. Now there's sexy dwarven rogue time. Because who could give into those puppy eyes when there's all that marvelous chest hair? Fenfen may be 'awww' but Varric is *drool*. And he doesn't stab you in the back. Ever.

I love it, and I hope you decide to continue. There aren't very many Varric/Hawke stories that aren't pure smut or just plain silly. It's nice to find one that I can not only bear to read but want to.

Again, a bit of a jarring jump from the last chapter, but overall an excellent bit of storytelling in itself. Very real-feeling and in character. Nicely done.

Hmm.. as much as I like first-person Varric, this chapter was a bit of a shift coming off the third-person previous pov.

Other'n that. Short chapter, but nice. Very astute of Varric. Looking to see where this leads.

I've only just begun reading, but already I find myself hoping the chapters continue for some time. So far the story is very -real-. you've created a tangible Hawke who is somewhere between the self-serving flirt and self-deprecating do-gooder that seems to abound. She is somewhere in between and it makes her entirely relatable. So... thank you for that. Looking forward to continuing this read.

Yes Varric is not a romance option but to be honest, I'm okay with it. He's like that great guy you care a lot about and love spending time with but also sometimes wonder how that'd be if you were more than that. I knew good fanfiction would come out of it.

Yay! What a quick update, I'm so glad! And what a great chapter it was! I wasn't expecting you to immediately hop to after the events of the game (and after Varric talked to the Seeker, even!), but I'm glad you did, it's a really clever way to do the romance without conflicting much with the actual story. Really well written, and I love Varric's pain-addled brain constantly thinking he's drunk and on the floor, it's totally him. :) Can't wait for more!

YOu did a great job of playing up the tension and worry of the moment, as they both recognize the severity of Varric's injury. And I loved how he is so grumpy and worried over Bianca when he's injured. I admit it, I gave a fangirl squee of joy at the end of this chapter. Loved how you translated that incredible moment of awkwardness/embarrassment/I-will-not-regret-what-i-just-did! immediately afterwards. It made me grin like a fool.
