excellent story.

Ah, I'm late to the party as always, but I wanted to read the story you just posted, but I hadn't yet had the pleasure of reading this. . .

This was a fun read. I'm sorry I don't have any constructive criticisms. I just loved this entire story, and by chapter 5 I was cheering, clapping, and laughing. Batman letting Babs fight Hugo? Priceless. You nailed that scene: everything from his attitude, to his lines, the chilling smile. . . I could picture that panel. I also really enjoyed (and admired) how well you wrote Babs and Hugo. You captured him as a madman psychiatrist perfectly, and Babs' own discovery of his weaknesses just left me grinning like an idiot.

Now I'm off to read the sequel!

That story was awesome i think you should send that to dc comics, hell i think you should write for dc.

Fantastic version of the current events -- well written, tight dialogue and plotting, great characterization. Batman's capitulation to the gang's arguments seemed a little quick at first, then I thought -- hey, he probably really doesn't want to shut himself off from them anyway. All in all, great story; and, if you rushed it like you said, that's even more impressive.

I adored the Bats/BC interplay, especially the trading of insults. I'd already pegged you as a Potatoverse fan, even before your footnote at the end. ;) I also loved how casually Babs knocked Strange out, without even paying attention. That's our girl!

OTOH, I was a little disappointed that it was Dinah who finally managed to break through to Bruce. I suppose you can argue that it was easier for him to accept the truth from someone with a less emotional investment in him, but it seemed a bit dea ex machina for me. Be that as it may, I enjoyed your version of this story tremendously! We can only hope DC's version is half as neat and tidy.

(still snickering at Dick's careless use of secret IDs... comes from being a Titan, eh?)

OMG....this is REALLY good. I wasn't prepared for it to turn out as well as it is going. I have a severe dislike for Hugi Strange asa a character ( I think he is portrayed as a twit) but the storyline you have created is outstanding. Can't wait to see some more.!
