Grace 11/12/11 . chapter 1 This was really good. The only problem I had was that Rebecca never called him Maxim, she always called him Max. |
Esie-muffin 3/22/11 . chapter 1 Hey! I really like how you recreated du Maurier's voice in the this piece, especially with the questions that are answered in the text eg. "How could a silly little object know my secret? Stupid." That really exemplifies du Maurier's writing :) I'm reading Rebecca for my English Lit/Lang coursework too - I'm doing a short story about Rebecca's spirit coming back and "whispering" to Mrs Danvers to kill Mrs de Winter - I've also included elements from the poem "The Laboratory" by Robert Browning - you should read the poem, it's great for themes of jealousy and murder. All that aside, I LOVED your story :D Well done! |
Unknown 3/21/11 . chapter 1 Ooh creepy. You really make her sound like a piece of work. Love the description and the first line too! Eeep! |
