This is a really good story, I really enjoyed the revelation about Captain Pike.

This was lovely. Normally, I don't go for short ficlets, but I really enjoyed this. The voices were well done, and it was in character for both Kirk and Pike, and the combination of deliberate provocation to earnestness was well balanced. Nice work.
