Yikes. A bit harsh. Qui-Gon does expect a lot from Obi-Wan, in my opinion, but he's not unreasonable. Heck, Obi-Wan expects a lot from himself. Qui-Gon should have offered to help Obi-Wan learn the material or at least spoken to the teacher about a make-up exam to take in place of the failed one when he was caught up.
