“Pickup Penguin.” Cute and creative title. I’m interested in finding out what it means.

To tell you the truth, I’ve always liked the idea of the U.R.T.V. brothers undertaking a spooky adventure. It’s a great opportunity to test the boys’ skills as bioweapons, while also bringing out the fearful/childlike sides of their natures.
This story seems to incorporate those aforementioned ideas. The U.R.T.V.s are undergoing some type of mission, sharpening their combat skills. But at the same time, the darkness makes the kids skittish. So the pure irony of weapons vs. children is ever apparent in this fanfic. Illustrating my point, I found it adorable (and believable) when Albedo unintentionally spooks Rubedo…yet the link master is too proud to admit it. That is definitely Rubedo’s personality. (Plus, that scene was just utterly cute _).

Albedo and Nigredo seemed in-character, despite this chapter’s shortness being unable to give the younger brothers large roles. Albedo is the perfect scardy-cat, and Nigredo is perpetually the cool, calm, and collected sibling. Always efficient, Nigredo seems more concerned with completing the mission, instead of allowing the mission’s spookiness to bother him. How ironic that Nigredo is the most mature brother, yet he’s also the youngest.

Random quote I couldn’t help but note“Its like playing a horror game with your friends and because they scream at something stupid you nearly have a heart attack, kinda thing. I swear, that’s the very reason I play horror games in the first place! . Great minds think alike!

All in all, this chapter was short, but it was a cute little introduction for the rest of the story. I have a feeling this fanfic will have a balance of spookiness and cuteness, which is a formula I’m quite fond of. I look forward to seeing where this fanfic will go next.
