I like this. A lot. Actually, I read it twice. I don't agree with some of the odds stated (the possibility of him getting cancer from the sun...) but the forest for the trees you know. I just like it. Short, simple, sweet.

The least you can do, if you are going to write an obtuse, pointless and just plain bad "story", is NOT steal the title of a great SF story. Just couldn't get that "creativity" flowing a little more, could you?

Wow. Your Midnighter spends a lot of time with these fun obsessions! This is so cool because in the comics, you see him hanging around in the background of scenes looking grim, and you just *know* he's calculating such horrible odds. Also a damn good reason why he can't just be with Apollo and be happy. Very well written. can't fault it _ N
