I liked it. Although I don't really take Hermione for a the dominant one in any relationship, it works the way you wrote it and was convincing. Especially Snape had me undone as a caring father-figure. He's acting just so far from what he does in the books that it's unbelievable! Nevertheless, it does work, as we never really get to know how Snape acts around those he cares for and actually can stand. (Or even like. If there's such a thing with the original Snape.)
