Had to check out this one after reading *Hurricane Eye*. Still like *HE* better (I prefer funny stuff), but *New Shoes" has a very unique atmosphere. A bit depressing, but still...it has the bright light at the end of the tunnel, if you know what I mean. Keep it up - I'd love to read more Xavier-stuff that doesn't make him look like a monster...there are too many of those around...
