"holding an intensely red rose"

*giggles* I know I shouldn't, but the word 'intensely' made me laugh at the sheer corniness of it all. Don't you just love early writing? I read over some of mine the other day and was torn between wanting to laugh my head off or cover my face in shame.

Still, for a first fic this wasn't that bad. Did the gremlins get to your writing again? Some parts of this chapter were a bit confusing, especially in the last few paragraphs.

"Note: pay no mind to the title of this chapter; I’ve been listening to the Beatles all afternoon."

LOL! As as soon as I read the title, I started bopping my head and singing that song! I love The Beatles!

This is rather a cute, little story. I've decided I like the name Kenshin. ^_^

"And perhaps Kenshin might be worthy of touching the tip of Kaoru’s kimono."

I really, really loved this line. The simplicity of touching the tip of her kimono was a lovely image.

O, this is fun. I have no idea what Rurouni Kenshin is, but it's quite an experience getting to read such an early piece of your writing. There's still your natural tone, but it's not as cultivated (naturally). It's like catching glimpses of 'Rowan' without seeing the full picture.

One of things that made me laugh was this:

"Taking a deep breath, she began walking towards him. At the last second, she changed directions, and walked straight out of the kitchen."

I've totally done that before, ahaha.
