And my catching up continues. :D

I know I keep repeating myself, but I can’t say it often enough; I love your family oneshots; they’re wonderful and so much fun to read. I mean what’s better than taking a nice walkthrough the park, just enjoying spending some family time together? But of course Lindsay can’t relax completely; too much she is worried about Danny and his health. Sure, he is able to walk again, but Lindsay is still worried. She knows that a long walk is very exhausting and even painful after a while, so she keeps an eye on him and makes sure that he doesn’t overexerts himself. Danny though couldn’t be happier, he is relived and glad that he can finally do ‘normal’ things with his family again. The last few months were difficult for the whole family, so I guess it’s wonderful for them to do something they also used to do before the shooting. But no matter how happy they’re again, Lindsay is still concerned about Danny’s well-being, she just can’t stop it, she’s a mommy. And it doesn’t take long until Danny notices that. “I'd recommend you look ahead if you don't want to crash Lucy into either some people or a tree,” Danny said all of the sudden, causing her to snap back to the present. He greeted her with a smirk. “I know I'm a hot sight, but come on, you don't want Lucy to collide with anything right?” Lindsay couldn't help herself; her cheeks started to flush lightly. Once again, he had caught her staring at him. But she couldn't do anything against this behaviour; too proud and happy she still was. “Don't be so full of yourself, Messer,” she told him with a wink. He winced lightly and instantly she felt a rush of concern. “Are you okay? We've been walking for quite a while...” He chuckled. “You're such a Mommy.”-“I'm what?” Lindsay glanced back at him with raised eyebrows. Danny offered a smirk. “You're such a Mommy,” he he repeated. “It's so much part of your character now. You watch me and our baby so closely, you realise every little hint that could indicate something's not fine, and I think you feel like you're completely responsible for us.”

That she does! But Danny said it himself, that comes with being a mommy, Lindsay can’t help it. For Lindsay her family is the most important thing in her life, so when she feels that Lucy or Danny are not feeling well, she has something to do against it. And she wouldn’t want to have it any other way; she loves taking care of them and to make sure they are alright. It’s what she does, we all know that. Sure sometimes she probably cares to much, we all know that as well, but that’s also why we love Lindsay so much. She’s wonderful wife, mommy and person in general. And as usual Lindsay worries too much as well… She thinks the fact that she had to support, help and protect Danny so much over the last few months bothers him. After all he’s the man, so he has to be the one to be helpful and supportive. But Danny couldn’t care less, he is grateful and happy to have such a strong woman by his side. He loves her even more for that, especially since he knows that Lindsay also had a hard time. Taking care of the household, of him and Lucy and going to work was also exhausting and hard for her, he is aware of that. “I think after all you did for me, it's more than normal to feel like that. And I didn't mean to say you're overdoing it either. I just don't want you to stress yourself.”-“I'm not stressing myself,” she answered honestly. Once again, she noticed how he winced. “Why don't we sit down for a bit? It's so nice to sit at the lake, and I bet Lucy will love to see some ducks.” They chose a bench near the water, and Lindsay didn't miss the relieved sigh that escaped her husband as he could finally sit down again. She had been unsure if going for a walk in Central Park had been a good idea and she didn't want him to overwork himself. “Are you sure you're doing fine?” she couldn't help but ask. “There's nothing wrong with saying you're not.”

I agree completely with Lindsay, it’s okay to say that he’s not okay. Danny had to go through a lot and everybody knows that it’s a long process for him to be ‘normal’ again. Nobody just puts away an injury like that easily, it’s okay to show that he’s in pain and needs to slow down a little bit. And let’s face he can’t hide it in front of Lindsay anyway, she knows him just too well. She can see the pain in his eyes, even though he doesn’t want to show it. That Danny wants to make Lindsay believe that everything is okay, is typical for him. Don’t get me wrong, he doesn’t do it because he doesn’t want to tell her, he simply doesn’t want her to worry too much. He knows that the last few months were difficult for too. Plus the whole healing process is going too slow for Danny’s liking, he hates that it takes him so long to be his old self again. I think in a way he’s frustrated and mad at himself, even though he’s doing everything he can. Thankfully Lindsay finds the right words to support him and to make him feel better, she always does. “You're still not fully well again. Be patient.”-“I know, I know,” Danny answered, revealing the slight hints of frustration rising inside him. “But see...I'm just tired of being patient. I had to be patient while I was in that damn chair, waiting for feeling anything. I had to be patient during physical therapy. I'm walking again. I have enough of being patient. I want to be myself again. The way I was before.”-“I understand that, believe me,” Lindsay let him know, gently linking her arm with his, snuggling into his side. His rising frustration was indeed understandable to her. After many exhausting, painful months, he was back on his feet, but still depended on his cane. Still every step required a lot of afford; he couldn't run, he wouldn't walk for longer distances without feeling pain. She could understand he was tired of that. “See, I think if I was you, I'd be impatient myself,” she continued. “But make sure not to rush things now. I know for me it's easier said than done, but look how far you've come now. Do you remember when you were at the hospital? How you were convinced you'd never be able to walk again? And do you remember how much you suffered while learning how to walk? It's all so much better now. I know you just want to run and do whatever you did back then. I know you don't want to need ages for every way you go or for taking the stairs. But please, be patient for a little bit longer. Don't give up on physical therapy now that you're so close to being well again. And don't force yourself to keep on walking even though you're in pain. That'll only make it worse, and you know that.”-“Of course I do,” Danny sighed. “I just...you know how weak I felt during all those week. There's so much I couldn't do. I want to be the strong man again who you married back then.”

Aw… Danny breaks my heart. I knew that sooner or later he would say something like that. For him it’s important to be the man you know, the one who is strong, supportive and the one who protects his family. The fact that Lindsay has to do that now bothers him a lot. I guess he thinks that he let her down or so and that she hates to do that. But he really should know better, Lindsay doesn’t mind at all, she loves to do that for him. She doesn’t care that Danny can’t walk for too long or isn’t as active as before. She loves him no matter what, for her it’s just important that he’s alive and well. And Danny? He’s so happy that he has Lindsay by his side. Not only is she kicking his ass every now and them, but she’s always there for him and supports him. Danny couldn’t be happier, but I agree with him, he should’ve know that being in marriage with Lindsay is wonderful. “I should've known marriage is great.” Bending down, he captured her lips in a loving kiss. As she leaned in further though, the kiss deepened and the warmth that filled her was slowly replaced by a delicious heat. “I think we should go home again,” Danny whispered as she pulled back again. He threw a quick glance into the stroller. “Lucy's asleep, so I guess she has enough of the park. And you said yourself that I shouldn't be on my feet for too long.” Lindsay chuckled. “True. So we'll go home and have a nap?”-“You wish.” Smirking, he winked at her. “I've something much better in mind. Don't forget, I still have a lot of catching up to do after all those weeks.”

Oh, that sounds great if you ask me. LOL It’s nice to see that Danny and Lindsay finally are back to being themselves and can be a ‘normal’ couple again. The last few months and weeks were hard for them, so it’s wonderful to see them flirting with each other and joking around. But at the same time you can see how serious Danny and Lindsay are about the catching up and that’s completely understandable. I mean they’re a newly married couple and are longing for each other. With Lucy being born and Danny getting shot they didn’t have much time for them and enjoying their marriage. Until now. It’s clear that both of them are looking forward to being intimate again. It’s surely not the most important thing in a relationship or marriage, but it’s important for them to feel this special connection between them. :-)

Another absolutely stunning oneshot hon, I love it!

Its raining and my computer is playing the DL Theme while I was reading this, so its a good sign! :D

This brought so tears to my eyes to again see how far Danny has come from being in the hospital, to the chair, and now walking with his cane. He is so lucky...he only has to open his eyes and see it. Lindsay is right to worry about him, I do love how he teased her calling her a Mommy, but he won't collaspe and go back to the wheelchair. I know this has been hard on her, and she has every right to worry, but he is getting better. And that is something they have celebrated by going to the park. WONDERFUL!

As for Danny, he needs to hear her words...he is doing so good that by stressing it and more pushing, it may set him back if he isn't careful.

"The last couple of months had been a long, exhausting and often painful journey. Lindsay was still amazed by herself and the fact she had handled a sometimes stubborn, often miserable husband, a newborn baby, a stressful job and the household all by herself, still finding time to motivate Danny.

Love was a lot more powerful than she had expected. She could remember how she had been sitting at the hospital, praying he would be alright, promising she would do everything for him. She had kept her promise, had faced this challenge like a brave warrior and had helped him through such a rough time.

Lindsay could only imagine what Danny had felt while being trapped in this chair. He was such a mobile man; he had been a fantastic baseball player once, he loved to be outside the lab, he had often defined himself over his physical strength.

Then suddenly he couldn't move his legs anymore, needed help with the smallest tasks, couldn't do everything he wanted to do like he was used to. She could understand why he had been so frustrated and depressed at first, why he had been demotivated so often during physical therapy when he had to pay with rough pain and exhaustion for the tiniest progress.

But after all, the afford had been worth it. He was back on his legs, walking. Still she could remember how she had felt that moment she had walked into Lucy's room, had found him standing there, holding the baby. Never before, she had felt so proud, so happy. Love could do a lot to a person, and she would always be amazed by the fact that there was no limit to it."

These are my favorite words in here. ...and when Danny had to open his mouth and ruin it, LMAO! I loved those too!

"I'd recommend you look ahead if you don't want to crash Lucy into either some people or a tree," Danny said all of the sudden, causing her to snap back to the present. He greeted her with a smirk. "I know I'm a hot sight, but come on, you don't want Lucy to collide with anything right?"

Lindsay couldn't help herself; her cheeks started to flush lightly. Once again, he had caught her staring at him. But she couldn't do anything against this behaviour; too proud and happy she still was.

"Don't be so full of yourself, Messer," she told him with a wink. He winced lightly and instantly she felt a rush of concern."

I think her words zinged him more than he could say, LMAO! Marvelous job!
