Well that was certainly interesting. I haven't seen an honest to god angstfic without resolution in a long while, and this one's epic. Poor thing, I'd love to go give him a hug but it wouldn't be the same, would it? Ah well. Great idea, beautiful execution, lovely writing - 5/5 stars for sure!

I love your glimpse into the Doctor's head, the words about the companions really ring true to me, I think you've captured that tired, ancient air that he carries with him at times, and I could definitely feel it being completely in character for him to grow towards your vision. Such sad glimpses back at what they've shared! Lovely choice of imagery. Oh, tragic romance...

River/11 is possibly one of the most frustrating pairings I've ever come across... I mean, it's not just River's death, it's the whole out of order part... And the way that when the times that they met ran out, it would just be over. I mean, thinking about their relationship totally confuses me...

Anyway, beautiful fic, and the song fits perfectly. Nearly made me cry.
