you are too damn cruel! T_T You pulled the happily-ever-after rug right under my feet. And i landed right on my behind. And it damn hurts! T_T I like erveyone else thought for sure the last part was the realtiy. But who would have thought it was otherwise. And the last dream was definitly th cruelst one too. Poor Fai! Thank goodness you made an epliogue. Although the nightmare is not compeltely gone, at least they are together. I guess the ending has a bitter sweetness to it. But no matter, i still love the story!

It just now occured to me, that while you did not specify how many years had gone by beyound "many", that I find one thing that maybe might not fit. Maybe. Might just be me.

In the anime they don't do a good job of explaining the particulars of Fai's new status as a vampire (or maybe its just the subs). In the manga, they explain more fully-Fai already had a long life to begin with, so being a vamp was not going to change that. However, what nobody told Kurogane until after the blood exchange and while Fai was clinging onto him (Awwww was that Kurogane's life was now also lengthened-not physically enhanced, just lengthened. Makes sense-if the pred is long lived but needs the prey, the prey needs to live long too, right?

My point is, would Kuro be feeling the years before Fai? Since Fai was actually much older by the time they met then Kurogane?...

You know what, I'm just worrying at a non-existant bone. Ignore me.

I was completely surprised at the ending of the first chapter. It just seemed like Fai was going to get his deserved comfort and then... that happened. I felt so sorry for him at that moment! Only then I saw that there was an epilogue, read it and found the 'real' end great!

I liked that Kurogane was so gentle with Fai after the nightmare!

GODS this is beautiful. I got goosebumbs shivering up and down my spine the whole time. And I'm very very grateful for the happy ending. This fic would have been seriously depressing otherwise.

I should have seen that coming. Knew it was an angst fic, knew the pattern of the dreams, yet I was still competely taken by surprise at how the end turned out to be! It was so real (and I suppose it's also wishful thinking :D

What a nice way to end a angsty fic. I am glad that Fai let Kurogane in, as it shows that he is keeping up with canon and not hiding anymore, or silently wishing destruction. I think the fear still lingers in Fai, but his relationship with Kurogane obviously outweighed the nightmares.
