Finally a serious Lockhart fic. You captured his sorrow extremly well. bonus points for even giviing Lucius a human side. very well written.

Ama-chan, I thusly hate you, as of this moment. Yeah, I've already yelled at you on IM, but I wanted to see a story of this caliber with more reviews. Okay, the last couple of chapters weren't up to your usual quality. They were *good*, but I *know* your potential and they could have been *so* much better! For shame, Ama-chan! For shame!

However, I *did* like your explanation of his pompousness. You lent real insight into a character that JKR presents as shallow, superficial, and 2-dimensional. You made him *real* to the reader, which I really commend.

I just wish you had put as much effort into the last couple of chapters that you had in the beginning.

The epilogue...was absolutely heart-wrenching. Forget that, it was heart-breaking! Poor, poor Gil! *coddles him* I definitely cried, no lie. His story is so sad! This was tragic even for a tragedy ;_;. He had so few happy moments, and he deserved so much more...he should have had a better end, at least! I also would have liked more of a feeling of immortality, linking back to your theme of Ganymede.
Like I said to you before, his life was like one long, melancholic ballad that just got worse with every verse. Yes, there were happy moments, but they were few and far between. It's not fair!

Overall, I still love this story, even if you don't, (you negligent mother you), and I will coddle Gil and treasure him. Am now an ardent fan of Gil/Lucius, will absolutely *no one* will understand unless they read this story, and I plan to force them to.

*hug* Oh, Amerz, I know UF is your abandoned hated child, but it still came out just wonderfully, and I'm so glad you decided to finish it, even if it kept you from enjoying TLS goodness. The whole explanation for Gil's egotism is just great, it fits in PERFECTLY with the canon. And..the epilogue. What can I say? I think that the epilogue blew me away the most. The description, the pain Lucius feels...even the breakfast he has with Draco is wonderful. The breakfast is just so very father/son-esque. And then, Lucius' thoughts as he looks at Gil's grave..just beautiful. I love how you incorporated the myth of Ganymede into this story, you made it fit so wonderfully and and and..*hug* Just, a great job.

this is taking me ages to read, but it's heaps good. you have a great writing style, you skies are wonderfully descriptive, and your storyline is delightfully clever. i would never have known how to write from the POV of a slytherin. they seemed so 2D in the books

Wow! wonderful fic! You know? before this fic I simply couldn't stand poor gilderoy... and now I can see him in a totally different light! congrats on your fic, and please continue! I'm dying to know how it continues. O

WAUGH, Amalin, WAUGH! I *knew* it was going to happen, I just didn't want to believe it. ;_; So, so, tragic, and extremely emotionally done and well-portrayed, of course...did I mention I love/hate you? Not sure if I did. I think this is a good point for me to stop reading, because I am simply too captivated and I have work to do. Work not done-bad marks-bad university-job at a generic fast food franchise. I love the names, too, Julius and Portia...another lover of the classics! I wanted Lucius and Gilderoy to stay together, too...but I knew it was far too good to last. I love the depth of the discussion between Portia and Gil; it's extremely well-done, and it makes a lot of sense.

Okay, now I *must* go before I get tempted to click the little button.

Ahh, gott, I think I'm developing a soft spot for Gilderoy/Lucius (lol, I almost wrote 'Luscious', how's that for a Freudian slip?). And if Gil gets his heart broken, *shakes fist* there will be HELL to pay. Though he probably will, and I'll cry for him;_; The first kiss, after a year and a half...it's so sad, but sweet in its tragedy, like everything about your Gilderoy.

And you know Greek mythology! I *love* the incorporation of Ganymede...Ah, there goes that old love/hate twinge again. You're so...so...wonderful.

Ignore everything I said first chapter (well not *everything you certainly know what you're doing, and again I am positlutely green with envy. Poor Gilderoy! I love him so, he's so cute and naiive and easy to sympathise with. *sigh* I'm really disliking Slytherins at this point, though I won't be too pleased if the house is *all* bad...maybe his year is a fluke. And it's not just Slytherins, either, seems that everyone (save Lily) is cruel to the poor boy. Grr...I bet Patrick has a secret crush on him and is just trying to overcompensate it.
Hmm...Hogwarts seems a lot like most high schools.

Okay, first things first. I decided to review this chapter first to record my general impressions.
First of all: WOW. I *love* your writing style; it astounds me with its ornate elegance and beauty. You write with a sense of artistry that puts me to shame...Gorgeous imagery, too. YOur descriptions are wonderful and very vivid, painting a picture of the scene in the reader's mind. The only thing is, be careful of overdoing it and going into the realm of baroqueness; sometimes it's better to concentrate on one theme, since the sheer beauty throughout (.) may detract from the focus, much like looking at a very well done, but somewhat cluttered, painting. I'm not accusing you of anything, since this *is* Chapter One and you may defer from this later on, but you can watch out for it.

Otehrwise, it's *wonderful*. I have always loved the character of Gilderoy Lockhart myself and wished to see someone elaborate more on his character. Did I mention I love you?

Oh, I hate you, as well. You're much more deserving of glowing praise than I am. Hmm, have I met my match? Can it be? *giggles* As if I could compare.

I know I haven't reviewed for awhile... But this is excellent! I *love* Diamond, as I'm half-Cuban myself; she's romantic but sweet and kind. And Gil's nearly real, and I almost cry with him. Amazingly, I'm not a slash-lover, but this is so good! I can't wait for the next chapter to come out! Wonderful stuff...
