I knew the begining was too sweet for the author, and naturally the fic went on to a harsh and direct action but convoluted casual connections. It is rather difficult to tie all lose ends without too much thinking (basically, what is the grandfather's problem). I don't know if this is even a problem. The fig generally makes sense even for those who are only somewhat familiar with Tenchi.
