I like what you did with the first and second rounds of the Kiri chuunin exams. Gathering information on the other teams you are competing against is common sense and every capable young shinobi would try to do as much as they can even before the start of the official competition. The second stage was a catastrophe, and I really hope that Naruto will make the most of it and be a lot wiser next time. That's the danger cooperating with a team you've not worked with before.

fantastic work! Your storytelling ability is almost flawless. I don't think there was enough of Naruto's other teammates in here, but I guess they're just in passing. Going to the sequel now.

The story is intresting, i still dont get the point you are trying to making, there are other ways someone can be promoted to the rank of chunin, i dont think its a must for someone to pass through the chunin exams, but its the fastest, each village use to have there own test, so u keepin naruto to being a genin for 2 years is silghtly un-understandable

Looking forward to the sequel.

A nice plot so far. I'm not sure about the Sakura/Naruto dynamic. Mainly, Naruto is forgiving of people to a ridiculous extreme. He's made friends with any number of people who have actually tried to kill him several times over. Not that he should take abuse from Sakura, but he could dodge the punch, make a clone, walk on the side of a tree, or any number of things to impress/scare her enough w/out pinning her the the ground. He's actually quite a martyr.

I really like the premise of the story.

Now Naruto has his signature technique again I hope he'll be similar to his canon counterpart, at least personality wise. Having him specialize in traps makes a lot of sense and it also combines nicely with Kage Bushin (though what doesn't).

The idea of Naruto passing on the first try is pure genius. The story needs lots of English mechanical work. Have you tried getting a beta?
