Meiriona 1/3/06 . chapter 1nothing can EVER beat Roy/Garth slash. welcome to my favorites list. |
Rosemarykiss 12/26/05 . chapter 1Nice, Tempest doesn't get enough exposure) |
Amarin Rose 7/2/05 . chapter 1Lovely poem, lovely story. Sorry you can only claim to have written the latter. :) But 'tis true, real friends are the ones you love you even when you're being an ass. |
Floria Tosca 7/22/01 . chapter 1Another great Teen Titans fic. In your Titans fics you're good at camaraderie and capturing the different personalities. Bravo! |
Chastity 1/6/01 . chapter 1Mmm, nice. This is one of a few fics I've read using 'The Thousandth Man' as a starting point, but I really like the way it's done here. I like the idea of the trust that all the Titans share (and my, but could a story come out of that one, eh?). I also think you hit Roy's characterization right on the head in that he never means what says, but also doesn't realize the impact his careless words have on others. |
Jason Lowe 11/24/00 . chapter 1 Both the Kipling poem, quoted here, and what the author has done with heroes Tempest and Arsenal reminds me of Walt Whitman, and "the dear love of comrades" he was quick to proclaim. Kerithwyn Jade is successful in creating a pocket of believable homoerotic desire within the famously neutered Titans ethos, and it is especially enjoyable that the characters are dealt with as friends with strong, simple feelings rather than fighting warriors offering compulsory dialogue. Is it just me that likes a little soap opera in his sci-fi? Particularly I enjoyed the texture of Garth's dialogue; it sketches a unique ethnic identity for the Atlantean which is a familiar modifier in normal human intercourse but one the comic books (I've read) have never utilized for this chararcter. Recommended. |
Cassandra Chalice 8/31/00 . chapter 1 Wow! the things I learn about my favorite characters;) Well-handled, and a good take on Garth's personality, which often does not get focus. |
Shoikana 7/3/00 . chapter 1 Wonderfully sweet. Nice to see a Garth/Roy conversation in which they confirm their friendship. It was wonderful to see Garth counter all the bad things Roy thought about himself. And I liked how Garth was written with no gender prejudice as we poor surface dwellers are generally burdened with ;-) |
