That's quite an interesting plot. We only see it periphically in the Temeraire books but it's true that it must have been very difficult for the female aviators to handle the huge difference between their position in the Corps and in the mainstream society. I quite liked your characterization and I totally agree with you: your Darcy is not that far from the canon one. Great job on this story.

This story, and it's prequel, were beautifully written and characterized, and I thought Darcy's reaction was perfect, even though I love Darcy/Elizabeth. I'd love to see more in this 'verse, but you've left it at a good place. Thanks for writing!

Let's say I can't imagine the marriage between THIS Darcy and THIS Elisabeth.

The sad thing is I can actually see a romance happening. It would take a heck of a lot to get it going, but if canon Darcy can eventually marry a "barely tolerable" woman, than I can see how it would work out.
Thinking about the canon marriage proposal makes me giggle. If he had such a hard time accepting her then, I can't imagine. She's still a gentlemen's daughter, though.

I think, given enough time, Darcy would be able to stomach it. But maybe that is wishful thinking.

Oh, how astonishingly excellent! I love "through the eyes of an outsider" stories, and am eagerly looking forward to more of this delightful series. One thing...would it be possible for you to collect the series into a single story, so it would be possible to subscribe to the story and thereby receive notice when it updates? I rarely use Author Alerts due to the fact that I enjoy so many authors; I have well over a thousand stories I subscribe to, and if I were to be notified every time any of those authors wrote anything, it would cease to be efficient.

I loved the last one-shot, and when I saw you had written another I just about bounced up and down. This was excellent, and Darcy was so perfectly... DARCY that it was almost painful. Poor man can be kind of an idiot...

I'm very pleased to see the sequel and I love the Admiral. Very straight to the point. Hopefully Darcy can get over his preconcieved ideas and move on.

I ADORE this crossover, and your characterization is just lovely. I would love to see where (if?) Elizabeth and Darcy's relationship goes from this rocky (if hilarious) start.
