I am enjoying your story, but for the past 2 chapters I think it has been clear that Riordyn feels emotions. You have lines like

"No," he laughed,
&
"She felt his sense of betrayal when Rafe believed him to be a murderer."

Laughter is derived from an emotion.

If he is old, then he would already have lost his emotions by the time he was captured and forced to drink blood.

Oh no...I hope it's not too late to save Race. Maybe Genevieve can revive him? Please post another chapter soon.

This is a great story. So different than most Carpathians fics on here. I really feel for the characters also. I do wonder tho, if Ben's somehow involved. Maybe not consciously, but what if he's like a sleeper spy or something. And I'm looking forward to seeing what they have planned to heal them. :)
