I thought I'd review here, even though it's been 7 years since you updated here. I found a bit of chapter 5 on your livejournal and gobbled that down too!

What can I say? Well, there are some many utterly beautifully detailed bits in the story. I loved some of the incidental magic details - how Imperius feels for the caster, Julius' random sparking, the spider spell - they really round out the world. I particularly love the wizarding culture and history details you have created.

Your Hogwarts is alive - much more vibrant than the Hogwarts of Harry's time. Why didn't Rowling have Central? It makes so much sense. House Slytherin - the 'game' gives meaning to the ambition and cunning requirements for entry.

The whole social scaffolding of your Marvoloverse is astonishing and so coherent. I can see why the fic has ended up abandoned - it must be a full-time job planning out and writing something this detailed and absorbing!

I am adding you to my alerts in case you ever come back to this - it is one of the best HP backstories I have read. I see you are still in the fandom, so I will live in hope that you will be inspired again.

My friend recommended this to me (since I have a thing for 19th-century fanfic) and I must say that I'm thoroughly enjoying it! Lately I've been feeling very alone, working on my own Young Dumbledore fic, and this was just the morale booster I needed :)

You have no idea what it does to me every time I read this fic. :) I so wish you could post more. I need my Carus and young!Albus fix. Your young!Albus is my favorite so far. I miss him.

What can I do to coax an update? Firstborn children? Chocolate? Random television DVD sets? Ritual sacrifice?

Ooh I LIKE. Everyone seems to shy off the Slytherins, whereas this one I like in a grudging sort of way... I'm torn! The labels evil and good are far too simplistic. I like the idea of the 'game', very realistic.

Finally, for the first time in readin gall of fanfiction, I have come across a story that transcends the HP arena... your story is at times completely alien to HP and JK Rowling, and yet, I reverently wish that she would like like you have, write with a depth that you write at.

magic in HP is simple, wave a wand, get the spell right. In yours, magic is alive and it is ever-changing, and it lives up to the imagination of a man like me who has read almost eveyr major piece of fantasy writing out there.

You have undoubtedly stopped this story, because it is 2007, but I have to leave a review. This is what HP could have been, and the magic in this story is simply...there's no words. At least after reading through your story. I will fervently hope that you are writing some fantasy literature somewhere, or perhaps took up another flick. But this version of Hogwarts will always be what i compare any other fic to, and invariably they will all far short. congratulations. your review number doesnt' say it, but i will. This has been some of the most enjoyable and intriguing reading I have done in the entire Harry Potter universe. Thank you

For some reason this reminds me of Oscar Wilde´s works, but that´s probably because he lived around that time.

this story's amazingly good, u've built your own little world here. im not a fan of slash and yet i still like it cuz, well, its good. very well-written. you've managed julius's point of view so well that i root for him instead of dumbledore hehe. but its been years since u've updated...when are u gonna update?? please hurry! i wanna know what happens next. if u've given up on it or something could u email me and lemme know? its my new obsession. thanks mucho.

I like this - Aberforth as a Muggle-born Slytherin - and certainly all this about Status game...

I like this - well, Aberforth? Dumbledore is interesting character, even if only mentioned twice so far... honest, if his brother can't tell if he can read, well..

More than anything else, I love how dense this fic is. I get the feeling that you know every nuance of wizarding life, inside and outside Hogwarts. I'm waiting with bated breath for the next chapter, though I understand that these things take time :). Happy writings!

Very interesting story. Doesn't really feel like Hogwarts, even taking the time difference into account, but it's very entertaining to read nonetheless.
