Just a quick review to say I really enjoyed this story and would really love to read part 3. I also quite enjoyed your rant in your profile regarding flamers and disparaging reviewers, especially ones that don't write themselves. As a non writer myself I would never presume to dictate anyone else's writing style/content and don't understand the people that think this is acceptable, but please don't let that put you off and deprive the rest of us of a brilliant story.

Just wondering if you posted the last chapter of Years at War, Part1 on purpose? Didn't leave a review, since I wanted to read more, even though it was very enjoyable.

Okay... So I'm a little bit confused here. Is Tonks dead or alive? I'm only asking this because in Chapter 56 it says

'a jet of green light narrowly missed them both. They looked up in time to see Tonks go down, her limp form toppling down the stone seats as Bellatrix fired another killing curse in their direction and ran towards them.'

This insinuates that Tonks was stuck down by a killing curse and therefore dead.
However in chapter 58 it says

'"Blake Wolf," said Tonks, her voice almost cracking as she spoke'

I don't mean this to be a bad review or anything I was just, and still am, a bit confused...

I have just finished the prequel and this story over the past few days. They are incredible! I love your Harry. I can't wait to see what will happen next in this story-line. I hope that you upload part three soon!

Hugh ! It was horrible ! Not in the bad way, but geez, It's heartbreaking as hell !
Harry will just suffer more after that, and Fleur too, I really hope they will be together again ! Since the two of them are actually alive, and that the third part would probably be the last...
I think that Harry would probably not 'really' care that Fleur attacks him, he must know it would be better than the actual situation...

Harry almost don't seem to have any reason to continue anymore. Heck ! He almost do a 'Zero' from MMX4, here...

Loaded a dozen or so fics with a search, basically Harry-Fleur sorted by recent updates and 10K ETC.
Among them this fic. I read and skimmed chaps here and there, as I'm deciding which fics from the search to bookmark...getting a good feel for how author writes certain topics, for example, jumping ahead to get an idea of the Harry-Fleur romance by chapter titles, and this chap with the "Trial". Writing is good enough for a full read, but guess I'll note in the bookmark to read the "prequel" first. If fics are up when get back in some weeks, I'll perhaps copy them in case author gets mad at flames and burns down the house. I can handle that, deletions, if I have a copy of what was posted rather than having chaps disappear when in the middle of reading the fic. I gradually came to terms with unfinished and abandoned fics some time ago, especially since it's "free" after all, and with the idea of studying styles and amateur writing with a critical analytical eye if one doesn't get distracted by just enjoying the story, observing for both original ideas and craft and skill and ability in writing...it's a useful enterprise for one's own critical ability as well as perhaps in the back of one's mind improving their writing skill by being exposed to what is both good and NOT very good writing and creativity. I've learned to appreciate the never or hiatus or abandoned decent fic to be better than a finished sub-mediocre one, or a decent one being finished when the finish is of poor quality compared to just letting it hang incomplete. Years ago I hated like the whiners, the incomplete fic, but then learning there are far more good fics that are unfinished, on hiatus, or abandoned, and/or unlikely to ever be completed, THAN completed good fics, I no longer harp or care anymore about that issue. Guess one of these years I might register and upload up a whole boatload of incomplete fics. Thouch the content might be too M rated for this sight and might need to post them elsewhere. If I don't get all flames if I upload a boatload of fics, perhaps others like myself might like reading them even though most of mine will likely never be completed. Sometimes you just get some nice ideas, for a nice good chunk of a story, but not the path to an endpoint or the plot and filler to pave that path...at least that's my biggest flaw, and then I discovered how some authors on this site could have so many fics on their profile, as I began getting ideas while writer's block had a story stuck in limbo, while I had other ideas and grew more and more stories, with those ideas, to then have more stories become more dead-end unfinished stories, while jumping along into writing the beginning or middle of another new fic with another idea.

THIS story: Not bad from what I've read and skimmed here. I'll be back later, to read the prequel story and then whatever is up for this one, completed or not. I recognize a few items from other stories, but the idea of a fanfic "plagiarizing" other fanfics is a bit oxymoronic isn't it? I've seen MANY a story with ideas I HAD or even wrote into a story I never posted, that I HAD years before others did. Borrowing cool ideas is fine, LITERATURE and the ARTS in general happens to be INSPIRED(plagered ideas) from what exists previously. If an author wishes or remembers to NOTE in A/N they borrowed a fanfic idea, then hooray and cookies for them. The ODDEST is in past years, when I read someone harping and complaining of plagered ideas, when it's one of those IDEAS that you could take a hundred would be fanfic authors, lock them in isolation with none allowed to read a single fanfic, and have half come up with the same "plagerized" idea. FOR EXAMPLE, poor poor Nymphadora, who suffered with boys and boyfriends always wanting her to look like someone else, but ONLY Harry asking to see and then compliment on her perfect and most beautiful "natural" form. Second only to the looks a lot like Bellatrix idea, so avoids wearing her unmorphed body. OR FLEUR, so sad, I'm so beautiful and boys only lust after me, and what all Veela prize is a man who is IMMUNE to their allure...ETC. Reading a fic recently, and SO OVER the top on redundant repetition of FLEUR so wanting this to the extreme, she really needs Harry to be gay you'd think, as the NEED for NO LUST is TOO OVERDONE. It's a bit bipolar in the female world, of pretending to not want to be viewed as a sexual being, but then LOOK at the mass media and how females, even those NOT wanting to be viewed as sex objects, want so much and pay so much attention to "being sexy", looking sexy ETC.
There's a cliche fanfic, the ones that early on have the weird drawn out foreplay of how we can cuddle and sleep together in only a platonic cuddly manner...hey, if there is no sexual attraction, then something is wrong with the couple's biology, or they are both gay. Gee, I must need to write or something, kind of got going there typing what was flowing through my thoughts.

Okay I have read both the parts of the story now. First of all your stories are really well written and I like Harry's character here.

But I simply don't understand what was the need to kill Hermione and that too in such a brutal manner. Unless your aim was to make Harry completely alone and this is something JKR did in her work.

Also Ron is way too OOC in your story, I can't simply imagine Ron allying with Malfoy or the latter to accept an alliance from a 'poor bloodtraitor' like him. This in my opinion was the weakest point of the story. It simply doesn't make any sense considering how their characters have been portrayed in the canon. How come the Weaselys haven't disowned him yet for befriending a Malfoy of all people whose father gave the diary which almost caused the death of Ginny!

Sorry for my rant but I am really getting tired of all the Ron bashing in fanfics. Not that I like him, but portraying him as evil as Malfoy is taking things too far.

I was also quite annoyed with Fleur abandoning Harry especially when he needed her support most. It was highly selfish of her and all those inner Veela excuse are just a pile of Dragon dung.

Also I noticed you have closely followed the canon in many scenes. Which is again illogical, considering how much your story deviates from the canon. One small change can far reaching effects.

I hope Harry now really takes the war to death eaters. I have a request make Voldemorts death really drawn out and painful, he doesn't deserve to die a quick painless death. Ron should also die, he deserves it.

And finally please please update your story soon its been far too long.

I reread the chapter and it hit me: after Sirius' memorial, Colin hands something to Harry. That's the vows of the Legion, isn't it?

Where did you get that oath? It was beautiful.

You know that Decree is just so brilliant? Harry can pay McGonagall with, say, a Knut to teach about the Azkaban breakout or whatever - it never specified who should be doing the paying.
