thank you! I don't get why he couldn't just reach the summit and not tell anyone about it. I mean, he made it all the way up there he might as well as finish the last five feet, right? I totally prefer this ending. :)

YAY! This is what I wanted to have happened in the first place. It is SO unrealistic what happened in the real book. I mean really, you're 10 feet away from the tallest point on Earth, not to mention fame, and you just walk away. I DON"T THINK SO! I, personally, wouldn't. Plus, it took how long to make it up that far? Please. You have no idea how awesome I think it is that you wrote this new ending. So much more realistic! YAY!

I just finished this book today and was disappointed to find only one story in the archive!

I really like your ending, but it's a little short. Also, I think it might be better if there was a follow up to it, like Peak's life in NYC, what Sun-jo's life would be like without the sports endorsements, etc. Nice job, though!

I hope you enjoyed the book. It's one of my favorites. Although I knew that it was likely Peak would not summit in this book, I had hoped it would be possible. I've also read Gordon Korman's series of three books about Everest. If you decide to read them keep going. The first book is a little slow at first, but everything picks up from there.

I know this was a school project, but I felt sort of like it was unfinished. To me, then ending of "Peak" is the birthday party in New York. If Peak and Sun-jo summitted together then the trip down Everest and the party in New York would be different. I'd like to see what you think a shared summit would do to those events as well.

This is a brief scene and I don't want to read too much into it. I didn't "feel" the accomplishment that Sun-jo should have. He's summitting is much more important than just a nice view. It is going to mean a huge change in his life and escape from Captain Shek. I'd like to see just a little bit more of this important part of the climax of the book included in your alternative ending.
