A very deep speculation at Reiji's thoughts. I see you followed the scene up to a point, which in my opinion in the anime was too odd. They both survived getting shot in the chest and taking on countless impossible battles, then suddenly getting shot randomly. It was a cliff hanger because there was no say if Reiji were dead or not. Though I don't want to believe that it happened so simply and out of the blue. You took it a step further and plotted them both to die. Although sad, you wrote it in a very interesting way. I like the word choice and style.
