I very much enjoyed reading this. I love how you captured Bertie's exhaustion, not only because of the terrible workload ("Kinging"), but the day-to-day wear on his heart and mind from the responsibility of simply being King. I also loved the mentions of the happy stories of his own childhood and Bertie's longing to hear Lionel's stories of his own childhood in Australia. Very, very well-done. Thanks so much for writing this. I'm adding it to my list of favorites.
