Reviews for: Five Times John Winchester Was An Excellent Father
twomoms 4/16/12 . chapter 1
OMG. This was unbelievable. Brought me to tears. John has always been a favorite of mine and you captured his feelings so brilliantly in this story. Especially with the fireworks, since we saw that one take place and then with the ski trip. John just wanted to keep his boys safe by any means possible. He was dealt a hand he didn't want but he reverted back to what he knew, which was the Marine training and kept his boys with him and safe the best way he knew. I'm sure he had regrets but what was he to do? And your ending? Oh my word girl, that killed me. I could feel the pain for all 3 of them. Just loved it. Thank you.

That was kind of sad actually. To be perfectly honest John Winchester was never my favorite person in the world. I always felt the boys would have been a thousand times better off if they were raised by Bobby. *He's not dead people! He's not!* Anyway like I said I had many many issues with John which I'm not going to go into now. I really did like him in this. If he was ever like this ever I would have been much more understanding but sadly he wasn't. I guess I'm trying to say I really did like him here so good job! You pulled off a miracle!

Great story. I enjoyed reading it. John's a very complex man.

Oh, I love this. So sweet and Sam never knew John saved him.

This was pretty sweet, especially the first two and the very end. I love John, and in the later seasons of the show they seem to just bad-mouth him a lot which seems rather unfair. "Of course it wasn't perfect." No one is and no one can be.

Wow, deep and wonderful. I loved your take on John, and his interactions with the boys.

"They burned him wrapped in linen ribbons made of heartbreak, and the five times he let them go, let them grow up and at the same time, tried to hold them so that they would never be in danger of death's cold grip. Of course, it wasn't perfect. It never could be. But five times in a lifetime, John Winchester was their hero." ...Stunning lines in general, but to end it on them? Perfect.

Seriously AWESOME work! :D

That was beautiful. It brought small tears to my eyes when John saved Sammy in the frozen lake. He did allways love his boys even though he was gruff. You captured that sentiment wonderfully.

Thanks,

Kat

Aww this was wonderful! Beautiful fathers day story. :) I believe John did the best he could with what he was given and I think this story captured it perfectly. Also, I loved that he got the chance to save Sam and see him happy during the Stanford years. This was wonderfully written and carefully thought out. I dearly enjoyed reading. :)
