iGoToExtremes 6/22/11 . chapter 3This is such a unique and interesting story! Simultaneously very sexy and entirely sweet, especially the ending. I would've loved to find out more of what happened in between, but it was nice to see an overview of a random AU romance. |

The Imperfectionist 6/20/11 . chapter 3Let me first say that I very much enjoyed reading this. For only taking a couple hours to write, it's surprisingly well-written. That said, I do have a couple... well, criticisms isn't the right word. Observations, I guess? Because while they happen to rub me the wrong way, it's probably just my preference. One, you've essentially written the beginning and the end of the story and skipped everything in between, something that probably wouldn't bug me as much if this wasn't completely AU. Second, while nothing you wrote was specifically out of character for Finn or Rachel, there was nothing specifically THEM about it either. Again, this becomes more of a problem for me as a reader when it's AU and it's up to the author to rebuild everything from the ground up: personality, tone of voice, personal history (I know it's a bitch - been there, trust me). But I feel as though you could pick any pairing from virtually any fandom in existence, substitute their names for Finn and Rachel's in this story and no one would notice the difference. That says to me that, at the very least, there are significant details missing. Again, just my preference. That second is a personal pet peeve of mine, so I probably notice it more often than just about anyone else. But I know people post their stories here for feedback as much as to have an audience, so I wanted to leave some. Hopefully you find it useful. |
