MistressHawk 1/12/03 . chapter 13
::Snigger:: I love the letters! I'm in that mood today, where the stupidest things are making me laugh my head off ( you should have seen me sniggering at a carrot earlier today. If you've ever read 'The Very Secret Diaries', you might understand the joke- if not, go read them! The site is .org) and the image of Gimli munching on the little demon, with some taters ( Po-tae-toes! ) on the side just sent me into gales of laughter. Will review when I've actually finished the story, but for now... ::Snigger:: I just love the letters.

Day 35: Killed by orcs. Stupid Orcs.

Wethril 10/14/02 . chapter 16
I think I learned alot from reading this. Letting go is not so bad as we think it is. Because if it is truely ment for us, it will always come back to love us just as much as before. I've also learned that the one worst pain is also the best pain... love.
Mija 9/26/02 . chapter 17
Ahhhhhhhhhh, I can't believe this, I'm going to go nuts. Please, please, let them be together at least once. please, please
The Black Lady of Rohan 9/4/02 . chapter 17
Just want to say how much I loved this fic. Alede is the coolest character ever!
Kemurikat 8/28/02 . chapter 17
Well done, well done! Absolutely splendid! A round of the finest Elvish Meade for our author, Nebride! I've a weakness for anything romantic, but I also highly praise the depth and humour you have created for the close friendship between Legolas and Gimli! Please, continue to share your tales with us for as long as they need telling!
Amy Lee 8/22/02 . chapter 17
I adore this series! It is one of the best I have read and I don't say this lightly. You really bring Legolas and Gimli alive. I particularly appreciate how well you depict the friendship between Legolas and Gimli. Many authors tend to brush over this or ignore Gimli altogether. Alede is one of the most original and believable original characters I've had the pleasure of reading. She is likable without being sickeningly perfect or an angst ridden outcast. There are many authors who should take lessons from you on how to write a character that isn't a Mary Sue. I really do hope that the third in this remarkable series will be forthcoming.

Wow, what a great original character you have made yourself! And you have definitely set yourself up for more great stories involving Legolas and Alede. I, being one who enjoys well-written, thought-out romances that have plot, hope that those two can finally get together. I'm so glad we got a taste of it in this fic. But I see from the summary that all is not good in your next installment.

The mystery in this was very good. I trusted my gut and thought that it was Ulynen (sorry, I know I butchered that but I didn't feel like going back to check out how to spell it) from the beginning, but was thrown off track at a couple of points in the story. But every piece held together well. I don't often read mysteries (not since I was in grade school and read Encyclopedia Brown), but I don't think you left any holes in the motive and/or carrying-out of the whole deed. At one point, I asked myself, "why didn't Ulynen just go to Ithilien if she wanted to be with Legolas so dang much?" But, alas, that was ruled out; she was too afraid to leave Mirkwood! Anyway, I'm rambling now and all I really want to do is get on to reading your next story. I hate the fact that it's not complete yet (I don't do well with suspense or cliffhangers), but it will be worth it I'm sure.

Absolutely wonderful! I look forward to reading the next story. I hope you like my works, if you ever read them. Legolas gets a dragon is the main plot of most of my works. I'm improving. Your works inspire me to continue my writing. Can I borrow some names? I have a lot of trouble coming up with good names. "Terrico" appears in 24/25 unposted (unfinished-still on computer) stories!

Oh come on, you know you wanna make it a trilogy! and i would love you for it. I gotta say this is a great story, and i loved every minute of it:)
Luineturiel 7/28/02 . chapter 17
A wonderful ending for a wonderful and fantastically written story. Okay, so Alede has left for Rivendell, but that kiss that Alede and Legolas shared... *grins* And the fact that both of them can still hear each other's song in their heads is proof to me that the two are connected by a very special bond. All this lets me hope that they WILL get together sometime. Maybe in your next story? Or maybe you'll still keep us readers waiting? However, I'm happy to see that the first chapter of 'The Faerie Goblet' is already up. Alede is such a great and lovable character - I can't wait to read more about her (and about my favourite Elf, of course! lol).

But first of all thank you for sharing THIS wonderful story with us. I loved every bit of it - the mystery around the Greymalcin, the humouristic episodes, the romantic parts, and above all the way you depicted the characters; the way you made them come alive. Your way of writing is addictive, and that's why I'm off to read the beginning of 'The Faerie Goblet' now. ;o)

HAHAHAHAHAHEEHEEHEEHOHOHOHO!

Ahhh, the ONE thing this story lacked, you now have! Gimli! Ohhh, I love that dwarf! And you write the wordplay off them beautifully.

So Legolas got drunk last time, did he? Poor heartbroken elf. I hope he enjoyed being a seagull! (I also hope he didn't break anything!) And fish in the fountain! (Falls out of the chair) Now I'm going to hurt myself! (gasp! wheeze!) You've given me an asthsma attack.

PLEASE send along the next story soon! I can't live without your stuff for very long; it's just too darn good!

(Pops open a bottle of champagne) Here's to another magnificent work finished! And another toast to many more to come! (throws confetti)
Jocelyn 7/22/02 . chapter 16
FINALLY, a free minute to review this magnificent ending! Nebride, you have truly taken your place among the greats of . You belong in the Hall of Fame!

The conversation between Thranduil and Alede had me sweating. Very tense. Thranduil is such an interesting character, but so aggravating. "I gave you silver," (shaking my head in annoyance. I think he just likes baiting Alede. But the horse was a nice gesture, even if, as Alede noticed, it was also intended to keep her away from Legolas. (Give it up, Thranduil, you can't come between two people destined to be together!)

There, I said it. You have officially made a truly fantastic romance, one of only TWO I have other seen that were worth reading on the ENTIRE INTERNET!

The fact that Alede and Legolas can still hear each other's song is interesting. Wonder how that's going to come into play in the next one when she's supposedly betrothed to someone else (now wait just a dang minute, what part of "Destined to be together" don't you understand!)

Green Meg had me screaming with laughter almost as loud as Alede. That was just hilarious, and great comic relief. But now she's GONE! (Uh, Alede, not Green Meg.) How much more are those two going to have to go through before they finally get together?

Sheesh! What a great story. The final scene between Legolas, Franduil, and the king was so touching and sweet, and redeems Thranduil in the eyes of all of us who were getting peeved at his endless snipping at Alede. Deep down, I think he's a good elf.

Off to read the epilogue. Don't keep us waiting long for the next story!
Gabrielle Lawson 7/22/02 . chapter 17
Well, you had me worried there for a bit. I'm just not a fan of romances. But your author's note has given me some hope that I can enjoy the next story as much as I enjoyed this one (though with the occasional twinge). Thank you for holding out against the call of the romance story. I like the humor in your story and I like the portrayal of frustration, too, which seems realistic. Keep up the good work. (Oh, but I had guessed the culprit quite early on.)
Ithilien 7/20/02 . chapter 17
Just an awesome job, Nebride! Chapter 16 with Legolas and Alede's departure had me in tears. I have so come to love our wizardess, and I think Legolas has too. It least it sure seems like he is falling in love. And the kiss, well I felt satisfied for the moment, but almost wanted more. I say *almost* as I'm not sure I'm ready to give up the fantasy of Legolas giving up his solo status on middle-earth. What happens in Valinor is another whole scenario, as it is a life separate from the tales we know, and he and Alede can consummate their love like crazy there for all I care. Still, I like the tease of their budding love. Nice way to end this fic, Nebride, with the hint of more.

And now you have another story in this arc on the way? Yippee! And on the regular schedule? We won't miss a beat. Alright, I am poised for more. Bring it on Nebride. You have my attention.
