That's a terrific story! I love that you leave a great deal of mystery - it's obviously before Anakin's fight with Obi-Wan and the Vader suit. And Palpatine's maneuver works beautifully. More like this, please!

Wow, this was a great character piece. That line about his face becoming still, as if a mask to hide something unspeakable gave me the chills. Great line!
