"no happy ending"

Wow! You called it. It wasn't a happy ending for those of us who love Harry and Severus together-as lovers, as mentor/protegee, as anything. But in its own way it was a release for two people who had finally liberated themselves of each other, only to be forcibly thrown together one more time.

It was sad that they both had their miosconceived notions of each other. However, given that Harry was more like Severus in being able to hold onto his bitterness and resentment, it was freeing for them both!

i dont normally like the whole, snape being harry's father thing, but i like this one. it captures their relationship, with the whole not working father son thing.

A great reminder that despite all that he did, Snape really is the worst possible hero...spiteful, unforgiving, apologetic... Sure, he played his part and I respect his character, but he caused plenty of harm and his remorse was the selfish kind. Well done.

It's may not be a "happy" ending where they become a family- but it's not sad I think- they both left free (free of burdens (and debts for Severus)) and more understanding... I liked the fact that they didn't actually do the ritual right- it should a very realistic side of what would have happened in a canon world (although I honestly can't imagine Harry calling his second child Albus Severus now...)...

As usual, an involving story from start to finish.

I hate Severitus with a passion, but this is just so much more.

The two of them are so perfectly IC and the background, despite being barely sketched, is so rich and real-like that I find it amazing.
