Reviews for: O, Mr Barrie!
EstellaB 4/20/08 . chapter 1
Oh!

*heartbreak*

This was just so... so... I can't even put it properly into words. So fantastic. So brilliant. I just LOVED every minute of it. Your style is very Barrie-like, which is about the highest compliment I can pay to a writer, since he's such a personal favourite.

My favourite sections was:She had been on her way back to the nursery when she had started to fall, and who should appear from out of nowhere but Peter. He had really been spying on her all along, and at last contented himself that his Wendy, at least, was not like all other grown-ups.

He had helped her stay aloft long enough to get back to the nursery, then had gently advised her against trying to fly again, as it was far to risky to send a grown-up out without a child to supervise.

A long quote, I know. Sorry.

So sad, but so good. Instantly on my favourites.

Such a great story, especially now since I've read the book and know what it's about. I'll talk to you later! *goes off to see what can be filed*

That was amazing. Truly. I've always loved Wendy and couldn't help but be completely depressed over her fate. This story seemed to express perfectly what I imagined her to be going through - yet at the same times helps me deal with the fact that Wendy grew up.

Being a huge Barrie fan, this puts you to the top of my favourite authors.

One word; WOW. You do a great job of mimicking J.M. Barrie's tone and language, and as such I applaud you. Excellent job. There were a few sentences in which you seemed to slip into modern toungue and non-Barrie-ish tone, "I do not think I like this one little bit." comes to mind. Changing it to say "I do not trust this turn of events one bit." would make it fit a smidgeon better.

Withers and Barrie's interactions were a tad confusing, what is it of what Withers says that Barrie doesn't understand?

All in all, excellent fic! I love your tone, it really does match J.M. Barrie's quite well. Good job.
