This story is unlike anything I've read and I am saying this in a good sense, because I really liked it! :) I enjoyed reading it, because I was exceptionally gripped by your writing style. I think it goes well with the story... everything flows perfectly. The ending was the best part. But, I was so sad when Naruto died. I wish there was more of this story, because I would have loved to read more. Great job, Annie! :D

This story is full of really, really pretty words and sentences, like "flakes of ash", "stranded in a cold she didn't belong to", "ash crusted lashes and dirt-scabbed cheeks". . . I love this, I do.

Okay, before I start my excessive flailing and fan-girling, I just have to say that this was wonderfully written. No, seriously. And if you see me typing in caps, just know that I'm freaking excited/squealing and definitely NOT yelling. Anddddd, here we go.

OKAY I JUST ABOUT DIED AT THIS LINE. Poor Naruto... when you mentioned him, I kind-of-sorta forgot that this was a SasuSaku thing, because I found myself wanting Naruto and Sakura to be together. /is not a traitor.

And them on the couch together? Soooo cute.

This is beautiful and moving and heartbreaking. I love it. I agree with your other reviewers; there is a wonderful poetry here that is truly a rare find. I feel inspired after reading, and as if I have been immersed in a dream you brought to life and do not want to wake. Personally, I didn't see anything wrong with the first half. Or the second. I think the entire story is amazing.

I especially liked Sakura's differing descriptions of Naruto: "Naruto's eyes had reminded her of the sky. Being friends with him had almost been as good as being free."

and Sasuke: "Being with Sasuke (but never actually with Sasuke) is like…is like following the rabbit down through the dark, dank hole. It is like chasing dreams that you never want to come true and cupping water in the cracks between your fingers. Being with Sasuke is reminiscent of sleeping with your regrets, of taking rusting handcuffs and snapping them around your own wrists.

Being with Sasuke is nothing like being free."

I felt that they were appropriately accurate, and loved that she could see it so clearly, and that she loved them each because of, or despite, it.

I look forward to more with great anticipation!
