Kannade 5/17/12 . chapter 9Oh my god. I read this all in one sitting and I'm physically exhausted cause I started in the late evening and now it's freaking 6am because I COULDN'T STOP READING. Man, this is like GOD TIER reading material. My brain is in ItaSaku overload right now and there are so many things that I want to say.
First of all, I *LOVE* this version of Sakura: independent, kind, incredibly smart, and most importantly she has a back-bone! In the manga, she's brilliant and kind, but for whatever reason Kishimoto isn't too keen on giving her the independent and having-a-back-bone traits. I mean, she's definitely changed A LOT in the Shippuden series, but I feel like Kishi could make her a lot more badass for sure. Okay, I'm rambling, but just know I like what you're doing.
I also think that your ideas (how chakra works/chakra sonar/Uchiha eye transplants/etc) are freaking brilliant. OMGGGGGGGGG! As I was reading through I really thought I was reading some next-level medical material and my mind was blown. Every time you wrote about how chakra works, or how a certain technique or procedure would go, I leaned back in my chair and went, "Wow." I can't even wrap my head around this: how did you even come up with these ideas? The techniques really seem like they would work in the manga and your explanations of how chakra works are so detailed that I feel like my understanding of chakra has totally changed. I used to childishly equate chakra and jutsus with with "Ninja magic" but your explanations make everything seem more scientific and ultimately more realistic and believable. Just Wow.
I'm not gonna lie, 98% of the time I freaking HATE it when people introduce new animal characters into their fanfics. To the point where I just X out of the story and never return. I've read some badly done talking-animal fanfics on this site that have scarred me for life and turned me off forever. I was kinda hesitant about continuing the story when they arrived at Hana's, but I was already so in love with this story that I grumbled "WELL WHAT THE HECK, LET'S JUST SEE WHERE THIS GOES," and forged on. And I have to admit, I'm very glad I didn't X out of this story. I like Noin and I laughed at everything the nin dogs said when they first saw Itachi. Everything went waaaaay better than expected.
As for Sasuke, I felt horrible when Sakura came over and he thought they were getting back together. As soon as she asked to meet him at night, I knew EXACTLY what he was thinking and I wanted to yell "NOOOOOOO!" and bury my face in my hands because I totally saw the upcoming train-wreck. AND OMG, JEALOUS ITACHI IS SCARY AS SHIT! When Noin was freaked out and said "That's how you were before Sakura?" I was completely freaked out too.
Anyway, enough rambling. To put it into layman's terms I love Love LOVE Nightingale. Keep up the good work! The chapters that you write are crazy long so I think it's silly for people to leave feedback saying "update soon." You deserve to take your time because of how long each chapter is and because this is really top-notch quality writing that shouldn't be rushed. I hope you do well on your exams! I just finished mine so I've been going on a fanfiction reading spree. Hopefully you'll get the chance to let loose soon! |
Faithful Reader 5/14/12 . chapter 9 You don;t know how hard it was to find this story again!
I didn't bookmark it, didn't remember the title or you name so I went LITERALLY searching blind for this story. I looked it up with any clues I could use.
I originally was looking for "No Good Deed" but then I remembered that the same author wrote both stories so I settled for searching for this one.
Took me hours but I found it! Totally worth it by the way! Reread it all again when I saw it hadn't been updated yet.
Love by the way at the beginning of the story how you described how Itachi sensed everything through his four senses since he can't see.
I was rereading and all I thought was "Wow lots and lots of descriptions." But its necessary since Itachi can't rely on the one sense all humans rely on the most. Without the vivid descriptions we wouldn't know how Itachi perceives his surroundings.
Please, please, pleaaaassee update soon.
Much love,

himechan27 4/25/12 . chapter 9This story is great. I love how you've portrayed Itachi and Sakura. Most often, Itachi is written as his character appears in the manga/anime, but I really enjoy the way you've humanized him. It's exactly how I'd imagine him to be if he was healed from the brink of death and now blind.
Sakura is grown up and again I love your version of her. You've manged to bring out her best and strongest qualities without making her a total bitch. I am so eager to read what happens with the transplant procedure. Thanks for the work you put into this. It's a delight to read. |
