I guess I should have known better but I really though Snape was going to turn all death eater at the end and rape Hermione too.

I really loved what actually happened though and it would be great full length story!

as slpkfast has already mentioned, i feel like this story should be objectionable due to the content, however it is far from it. i really enjoyed your fic, the emotions were real and it was just a lovely insight into the two characters.

i had to laugh at myself for being stupid tho - it took at least a minute and about 50 re-readings to twig that "she felt the bed beside her sink" didn't mean hermione was groping around on the mattress that was next to a washbasin. lol at my dumb! )

I couldn't NOT review. I'm not morally opposed to stories that include implied rape, despite the fact that I feel I should be. And as a basis and content for an entire story, I feel like I should be offended on behalf of rape victims everywhere (some of whom are my very good friends and one of whom is the love of my life). However, I am not. Rape happens. Incest happens. Two-year-olds are murdered. Life is crap. I'm writing the review because, even in the world of fanfic, real life sneaks in. Even within an imaginary relationship between fictitious characters, you've managed to write and capture real emotions. I love how you've managed to show Hermione's vulnerability while having her behave with the practicality and pragmatism she's known for. As I read the story, I felt sorrow, anger and was even a bit nauseated. I was also happy, surprised and left pondering several things. It is rare for me to find that range of emotions and level of engagement in fanfic. You did an outstanding job and I thank you for sharing. While I am very satisfied with this read, I won't hesitate to ask to you write more as you have the inclination. I would love to see how you would write a developing relationship between Hermione and Severus (either referencing Penance or as a stand-alone). I'm headed to your author page now to check out your other work. Thanks again for sharing.

Reviews are love and love it is after such a wonderful first chapter! Excellent characterization. I guess you will not have it evolve into a love story, but I understand why.
