Liili 5/19/13 . chapter 12I must congratulate you. Or most of all, thank you. Because what you are writting is a most wonderful sequel of North and South. Actually, without repeating what the others said, it is exactly, and I swear, the kind of sequel I have been imagining ! I apologize for the possible mistakes I did, and the next ones probably, I am a French fan of North and South (and in passing of Pride and Prejudice) and I sincerely admire your writting. You are the only one who writes a faithful sequel, and a significant one because it is more than good to me. The tone is really similar to the series' one. I can see our characters acting perfectly. You have made Margaret and Thornton say things very closed to what they already say in the series. We can imagine them talking to each other with the same tone. To me, you have respected the nature of both characters, made them say things they would have probably said in a sequel. Their reactions (even for Mrs. Thornton) are so correct ! Also, I must give in by seeing how much you are talented in your ability to reveal emotions from Margaret and Thornton... I could not take my eyes off of your paragraphs and I felt overwhelmed by such a description, inventiveness and respect of what we already know about them. I am sure I must not have been the only one to being thrilled... Anyway, I must thank you for the happiness you gave me and for the one you will give me by keeping writting this story. I would be so grateful and I beg you not to give up :) Really bad things happen in life, but I would like to tell you that, to me at least, you have such a great talent to give dreams to others that you just cannot leave it slip through your fingers :) Keep this talent, keep sharing it with us. Please, tell us the rest. Do not stop ;) |
MauiSunsetz 4/11/13 . chapter 12Loved your take on this very plausible extension of their story. You had me going for a while, thinking she would leave him again, but I'm glad she didn't! I look forward to seeing Margaret fiercely defending John to her family and how he'd react to the things she says in his defense which would further illustrate why she loves him... I'd also love to see a glimpse of your interpretation of their married life together! |
amy.prickett 4/8/13 . chapter 12Very anxiously awaiting the next chapter. I could clearly see the words form such wonderful scenes in my head. Written wonderfully! |
aprilf00l 3/29/13 . chapter 12This is such an awesome story! Hopes for more! |
Lillith-Zahriel 3/17/13 . chapter 12Awesome story. As well as you, I fell in love both with the character of Thornton and his portrayal by Armitage. You have here a very good narrative, and is very alike what I imagined and envisioned happening to them after their encounter in the train platform. You have taken the time to develop a very credible plot and story line, where the strong personalities of the characters clash when noticing that their wants and desires may not be aligned. Mrs. Thornton is a force to reckon with, and not recognizing her as such would definitely diminish her importance and contradict her original portrayal. You have captured her characterization perfectly, and the motives that drive her are evident in your writing. I can also see Thornton's inner workings perfectly, which I greatly enjoyed reading. If you don't mind me saying, it does have some typos and errors, but they are minor, and easy to fix. Most of them no doubt are the result of having the urge of posting as soon as possible. :) Which reminds me... Thank you for writing it and for sharing your personal experience. I sincerely hope for two things: that you find the happiness that you seem to deserve and that you finish this story. It is so good, that I can't wait to see what else you write. |
