Reviews for Anno Domini: Past, Present & the Book of the Dead
Araminta Lupin 8/7/11 . chapter 8
Like Sunny, I like the idea of a vamp becoming a ghost to atone for sins - there might be hope for M yet! I love Egyptian mythology, so was great to read your interpretation of the weighing of souls. Glad there was a contented, if not happy, ending to your fic!
Araminta Lupin 8/7/11 . chapter 7
Very dark, very poetic. Am scared to read the next chapter to find out what happens in the end!
Araminta Lupin 8/7/11 . chapter 5
This is my favourite chapter so far – good to see EW squirm a bit! But what a lonely existence for these two ‘experts’ on humanity, who watch humans, not with the disinterest of Ivan, but the wisdom of the older generation looking fondly at the young.
Araminta Lupin 8/7/11 . chapter 3
Sorry it’s taken me so long to review, but I wanted the time to read it all together. I really enjoyed the character studies for each of the waiting women, who all had unfinished business but re-united with the ones they loved in the end. Frightened by the fireworks indeed!

There is so much in your story line that applies to so many things. I really love the way you've woven the past into the present, and now back into the past. As tormented as the characters have been, in the end, there is hope. Very, very cool way to present them.

And interesting that the vamp becomes a ghost, to atone for past sins...do you have an inside line on S4?

Really enjoyed this. Thanks for writing it.

You are a deep soul arn't you? Did you have a plan, did you know where this was going when you you started?

It seems like you must have had an inkling for this to all have come together so well.

Thanks you such an engaging story.
MancVamp 7/30/11 . chapter 6
I really enjoy the originality of this author's work. It is darker and deeper than most of the fanfic that I read normally - not always an easy read - but nevertheless is profound and themes are explored in depth.

The pictorial images created by the author are outstanding: original, diverse and colourful.

"It barely gave an impression of burning when it reached his dark equivalent of heart"

"...not exactly expecting a smiling McParadise angel between you and him.."

A heady mix of brutality and tenderness.

NO! Absolutely not! He is not engulfed in darkness...it does not end this way! Please? You are amazing at weaving historical with modern, and making us feel comfortable in both. Very much like the way you pulled the characters thru history, getting us to this point. This Unfinished Point! More please...
toniannmh 7/25/11 . chapter 5
STXXX! What? You can't leave us on pins and needles like this! What happens next? Is he dead? He was sounding like John's savior and now what? You are getting too good at cliff hanger endings.
toniannmh 7/25/11 . chapter 4
You have an interesting perspective on the supernatural. In reading some of the other reviews I am curious if you are in fact intending to link these characters to our beloved BH characters? Your stories are, as always, brilliant and well thought out.

STX, while we can all agree that Aidan's Irish accent is sexy as hell, I would like to mention how charming it is that you write English with a French accent. And that it is altogether charming.
Inch-high 7/25/11 . chapter 4
I love all the incarnations of the three main characters across the ages. I particularly like this historical setting and the confidence with which you deal with representing the conflicts and atmosphere of the age. What a great twist to have the damphyr become a werewolf (did you intentionally give him the middle name Wolfgang?). I can't wait for the next chapter and the prospect of reuniting our three protagonists in their familiar forms.

Saint, I really enjoyed this chapter. It's great to see the different strands of the story starting to come together and I thought you managed to tie up this chapter with the stories of the 12 going full circle in a completely satisfying way. I can't wait to see what becomes of the vampire in the next chapter. Now, I'm just working on matching the ghosts to their BH counterparts!

Oooh, it's THE skull. Now I see how the two chapters are tied together. I love the vividness of the heat, the spices and the vibrancy of Byzantium as compared to the fog, the cold and the bleakness of the British landscape. The fate of Hildegard was devastating but inevitable and the manipulation and calculation of the priest made me glad to see he got his comeuppance in the end. I also love that you managed to include the tale of Orpheus and Euridyce in the narrative. I look forward to the next chapter.

I really enjoyed reading this short fanfic. The premise of the story was original and the images depicted were alive and vibrant. The pace was fast-moving and the tension mounted to the end. I especially liked the physical description of the landscape because it helps the reader to really picture the setting of the story. Thank you.
toniannmh 7/20/11 . chapter 2
Anonymous reviews are mine, sorry I forgot to sign in. I like how you tied in chapters one and two. This is going to be an interesting journey.
