I loved your tribute to Mike Franks. He was a wonderful character and I hope he will return in flashbacks.

I also think this is a great opportunity for Gibbs to grow into his own. So many pivotal decisions he made in his life were patterned after Mike's actions (leaving during Hiatus for similar reasons, how he said goodbye (Semper Fi) and drinking!

sniffle, sniffle, and as much as some other people don't like Franks at all and I am even miffed by the way he treated Tony by hitting him over the head to escape custody,,, we do have to remember what Mike really meant to Gibbs. This is Great!
