Interesting story and interesting perspectives! I like how you show Adria's own inner turmoil: "Adria always hoped but each encounter left her less convinced but always hoping." I think that she really did struggle with the fact that Vala did not bend to her will. She really didn't have a choice but to kill Alaister once she knew of his doubts. He could have started a rebellion right under her nose! :)
