Absolutely fantastic so far. I love the descriptions and how the way you describe certain things links to Kurt's mindset. Like the 'winking' knife sounds like it's mocking him as much as everyone else. And I don't know if it was your intention or not, but I love the air of monotony that this is written in. It feels like it reflects Kurt's way of thinking so well when he's at this moment in his life. To cap it all off, the last sentence was brilliant. You managed to capture the crippling numbness that someone in Kurt's situation feels in one sentence. Someone who is willing to go to the real hell if it meant they didn't have to live in their own personal one.
