Interesting thoughts

I really like this fic. It's insightful and well-written. But I have to say, my favorite line is the last one. For some reason, that really just seems to tie the whole story together. And it really brings something, though, granted, I'm not quite sure what, out about Neal's character. I really liked that simple touch.

*Love* this. I like the extensive sensory stimulation in it, as Neal becomes the part. And the unexpected reminder of his father, followed by the need to grey the alias until he feels comfortable in that skin, is wonderful.

Very nicely done. I especially like Neal wondering what it would be like to have earned a medal, and not feeling comfortable until there's wrongdoing in the guy's history...

What a great story. So well written and the descriptions are so real. Are you from a military family?

Nice character work. I can see the dress whites being a "costume" Neal isn't totally comfortable with. He'll sell the character like any other persona, but inside, he's still torn between the con and man dilemma.

That was wonderful. The detail was gorgeous. I loved how so much was seen and explored with just that one uniform.

Excellent, excellent, excellent character study. While of course Neal looked terrific in dress whites, I'm a JAG fan and it was just so wrong for him to be a commander. He's a little young, anyway, to have achieved that rank and there's no such thing as a "high ranking commander," as Peter said. He would be a commander or not a commander but no commander is higher ranking unless they got their rating earlier than those around them.

But, just loved this.

Really fantastically written. I love your intricate description of Neal's attire, particularly the importance of each fine detail in the make-up of his cover. But most of all, I love the idea that Neal had to add his own - shall we say - less than savory touches to the officer disguise in order to feel at peace. That's very meaningful. :) Absolutely wonderful work!

This was an amazing idea! Hats off to you for writing it. I love the inner conflict and how Neal sees service members, not just military but firefighters and police. My dad was navy and my husband is army and every time I see the dress uniforms some of these thoughts pass through my head.

Again you did a wonderful job and I enjoyed it thoroughly!
