Cute! I really liked this. :)

I always find it weird when people use my real name as not a lot of people ever call me by that. Or rarely, really.

Anyway, this was an interesting oneshot. I wouldn't say it is so much crack though, as it does stay a lot of with who the characters are and their proper actions. I would probably say it is more philosophical than anything due to everything surrounding the plot piece.

I liked that Mariam is hesitant, as when I think of Mariam in her relationship with Max, I think it goes in two stages. The first where it is early on and she's quite skeptical of their relationship (as is the show with their friendship), then as their friendship/relationship grows I see her more daring. But yeah, I can totally see her reaction to Max's reaction.

Speaking of Max's reaction, you think he would've been way more interested in that kiss. XP But being Max, I'm sure he put his feelings aside to wonder what was going on.
