I knew Chocolat was the "Brother"! The part with her pulling away from him at the end, having become cold and business-like, is very nicely done.

I quite like this; we haven't seen many stories of "Satine as a girl" (esp lately) and this is quite plausible and nicely-down, just the right amount of atmosphere to let me paint the picture of two ragamuffins in the streets of Montmartre, without overdoing it to show off or detract from the characters themselves.

I also like that the two characters don't have given names, and simply call each other Brother and Sister, a nice touch creating an illusion of family for themselves. (Family is not just who you are related to, but who you chose to love) I'm assuming I know who the Sister is (Satine) but I'm curious as to who the Brother is. He could be anyone in the MR universe (I have a guess or two) or he could be a completely new and original character. If you continue I'm curious to find out more about him, about what he wants, apart from his affection for her.
